Earlier this year, I had the privilege of working with a friend of mine, an accomplished photographer, who needed assistance with a legacy client. We had an amazing time, our synergy was palpable, and we managed to capture some truly breathtaking photos. A few months later, he reached out to me with a very special request. He wanted me to take over the bride getting ready shots as he had a mild cough and didn't want to be in an enclosed space with all the bridal party. I was deeply honoured and touched by his trust in my ability to handle such an important element of the wedding day.

The wedding was held in the exquisite Monte Creek Winery in Kamloops. The venue was simply breathtaking, with its stunning view of the Valley and a beautiful, light-filled reception hall.

I must confess, I am utterly infatuated with the fall season. There's just something about the kaleidoscope of colours, the crisp bite in the air, and the anticipation of the holidays that makes autumn feel like a magical time of year. I often find myself wishing more people shared my love for autumn weddings. Imagine the breathtaking photos with a backdrop of golden leaves and the couple wrapped up in stylish autumn attire. However, I take solace in the fact that people do love getting family photos during this beautiful season.

On the topic of family photos, let me take you on a little journey. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing some precious moments with a new little member of a beautiful family. About a year ago, I embarked on a journey which not only gifted me with the joy of seeing my dear friend but also the chance to meet his charming little boy. Now, as I look back, those moments are etched in my memory, as vivid and as alive as they were when they happened.

It all began with me packing my bags for a trip to see one of my best friends. He had been blessed with a son and I had been itching to meet the little one. When I finally arrived, I was greeted by the sight of an adorable little boy. His twinkling eyes held a gleam of mischief, and his infectious giggle echoed around, adding a melody to the day.
&nbsp;
I was fortunate enough to spend a considerable amount of time with this little rascal. His innocence and boundless energy were absolutely captivating. Every moment with him was a new lesson in seeing the world through an unfiltered lens. His laughter, his pure joy at the smallest of things, and even his tiny tantrums were all reminders of the beauty of childhood I had almost forgotten.

However, the trip took an unexpected turn when all flights were grounded due to unforeseen circumstances. The thought of getting trapped away from home was nerve-wracking, to say the least. The adrenaline rush of trying to find a way back home was something I hadn't anticipated.

Finally, after much hustle, I found someone willing to drive across the border to come and pick me up. As we drove back, I couldn't help but reflect on the roller coaster of events I had experienced. It was a trip filled with joy, laughter, a bit of panic, and an adventure that I never saw coming.

Looking back now, I realize that this unexpected trip was a bundle of precious memories - from meeting the adorable little boy, celebrating his birthday, to the near-miss adventure of being stranded. It was a reminder of how unpredictable life can be, and how sometimes, the most unexpected situations leave us with beautiful stories to tell.

A year can be a long time, filled with countless moments, experiences, and emotions. For me, it's a myriad of opportunities to capture life through my lens. Although I haven't been able to fully sit down and curate a complete 'Year in Review' yet, I recently found myself going through a handful of photos that I simply couldn't resist sharing.

There's something genuinely special about ring shots. Whether it's an engagement, a wedding, or a celebration of some sort, these events often involve rings. Rings are symbols of commitment, of love, of a bond that's meant to last forever. And when captured in black and white, these ring shots take on a timeless, classic feel. They're reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour and vintage romances. The absence of colour allows the viewer to focus on the details, the lighting, the composition, and most importantly, the emotion.

This summer I had the delightful opportunity to be a second shooter alongside the talented photographer @myptography. The location was beautiful Salmon Arm, B.C, where the sun seemed to always shine a little brighter and the air was filled with an inexplicable sense of excitement and joy.
&nbsp;
The wedding we were there to capture was held at the groom's family farm, a charming place that was a stunning mix of rustic authenticity and modern elegance. It was as if the farm had been designed specifically for such an occasion - with the sprawling green fields, the old barn standing proudly in the rear of the property and the quiet serenity that only a place so steeped in familial history could offer.
&nbsp;
As a second shooter, my job was to capture the moments that might be missed otherwise. Like the laughter shared between the maids of honor, the proud tear in the groom's father's eye, or the flower girl's fascination with her petal-filled basket. It was a role I was more than excited to play, knowing that these were the moments that would be cherished for a lifetime.

The first dance was one such moment. I remember staying a little late after dinner, positioning myself to get the perfect shot. The entire wedding tent was bathed in a soft, warm glow - a testament to the love that filled the room. As the bride and groom swayed gently, lost in their own world, I managed to capture a shot that I believe encapsulated the essence of their bond.

Another highlight was when I took some fun portraits of the newlyweds. Guiding them to stand in front of the barn, I was able to get a photo that not only highlighted their joy and love but also the significance of the location.
